CORPORATE HISTORY
Sabah Steel Engineering Works (SSEW), established in January 1996, is a trusted Malaysian engineering and sustainability solutions company with nearly 30 years of proven experience. From our roots in Lahad Datu, Sabah, we have grown into a multidisciplinary firm delivering engineering, fabrication, renewable energy, and palm oil downstream solutions to both local and international clients.
SSEW is wholly owned by SSEW Technology Sdn Bhd, under the leadership of Mr Tiun Tioong Boon. While SSEW Technology Sdn Bhd serves as the primary operating company, providing engineering, fabrication, renewable energy, and waste-to-value solutions, SSEW functions as the specialized trading arm, focusing exclusively on the export of crude palm oil and palm oil products. This complementary structure ensures seamless integration of advanced technologies with international trade, strengthening our position across the full palm oil value chain.
Our expertise covers waste-to-energy technologies, desludging systems, scum oil recovery, biochar production, and sustainability compliance. With an ISCC EU (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification), ICIM (Italy) and MPOB certification, SSEW is officially recognized to export crude palm oil, biodiesel, and related products to Italy, Europe, and other international markets.
Over the decades, we have collaborated with palm oil mills, plantations, government-linked companies, and global buyers, helping them enhance operational efficiency, ensure sustainability compliance, and maximize profitability.

OUR MISSION
SABAH STEEL ENGINEERING WORKS would participate effectively as the preferred products and service provider in Sabah’s yet-to-be implemented federal governments developmental project in the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP) including the Sabah Development Corridor – in – expansion project – of infrastructure facilities (water & substantive power supply, major link roads, airports, etc) and economic generating projects – Palm Oil Industrial Clusters (POC) projects, Oil and Gas Explorities activities and Oleo Chemical plants.
